Music Review

It took my far too long to decide what group or even genre of music I would do it on. I ended up looking through some of my CD's and found some of my old Polish rap and hip hop CD's. I'm not sure exactly why I decided to review this genre, but I guess I'll go ahead and do so. I'm going to review three of my favorite Polish hip hop groups.

One of the groups is called Trzeci Wymiar, where my uncle is one of the members of the group. They have a pretty unique style from my point of view. Their songs all have very deep meaning, especially to someone who has heard the stories of where the song topics came from. The group's lyrical composition comes from Szad and Nullo, who were close friends since they were young. I'll post two links, the first "Wuuf", one of their newer songs, and "Zapomni O Tym" one that was inspired solely by my uncle.

The next group is called Piec Dwa, sometimes called 52 Debiec or 5-2. This group was also formed roughly the same time as Trzeci Wymiar, and one can see similarity within the styles of the two groups. Most of 5-2's songs lyrics are driven in a more angry direction than most other Polish hip hop artists, which gives them a sort of uniqueness. The link I post is to "Gniew" which is personally one of my favorites.

The last group is called WWO, which was also founded the same time the first two groups were, 1999. They are a very prominent group, taking more of their roots from German hip hop than other Polish groups. They have a pretty cool sound, some killer beats, and a fantastic rhythm. This is "Tak To Wyglada", one of my favorites by WWO.
